It’s like a marathon:
The term ‘long distance running’ is quite popular these days because the most famous race in the world right now is called ‘marathon’. It has its origins from ancient Greece and was named after a soldier who ran over 26 miles to deliver news of victory in battle (in 490 BC).
This type of racing grew up and people tried many types of distances and races. One important thing here is that when we talk about race then it obviously needs training. If you want to become an expert at this kind of sport then you need proper exercises with running shoes specifically designed keeping in mind the pace and endurance level required by that particular person.
What kind of shoes you need for this sport?
Do you think that any shoe can be helpful in your goal? If yes, then let us make it clear once and for all. Any sort of casual show will not help you to run long (more than 10km) distance. You need a special type of sports shoe with some extra features which will keep your feet secure and comfortable while running on the track at a rapid pace.
Even if you’ve regular sports shoes then also we highly recommend that use only durable and quality products because over here you’ll feel the difference (like an expert). We know many good brands like Nike, Adidas, Asics etc. who provide such wonderful options for their customers so there’s nothing to worry about quality.
These shoes are designed in a way that gives you extra support in your feet and keep them in shape while running for hours without any tension.
Are they comfortable to wear?
Yes! they are because these shoes are specially designed keeping in mind the long distance runners’ requirements. When you choose one of these then it means that you’re investing your money on something useful which will make your feet fresh, attractive and toned again after some time if used effectively.
That’s why we highly recommend this kind of investment when you want to make yourself physically fit for running or sports events like ‘marathon’ etc.. We assure you that over here quality is more important than quantity so don’t worry about bad things, just buy premium products and prepare yourself for the next long run.
Why we need to spend money on this sport?
Well, if you want to buy a good pair of sports shoes and go ahead with the training then it’s your choice and money and we’ll not say anything more than this. But in case you still think that buying these products is useless then let us tell you something really interesting related to that sport.
There are many famous personalities who made their name after participating in such long distance running events like Boston Marathon etc..
Even today people love to see such things live because they’re full of energy and assure everyone that this sport can make anyone successful if he/she put real effort in it without expecting any favor from anyone (e.g. sponsor or something else).
Long distance running is not an easy task but it’s worth doing once if you try to enjoy the real excitement of this sport without focusing on anything else.
Running is tough, but absolutely doable. There are many runners that run long distances every day and they look amazing. If you decide to run long miles, take your time during training and let yourself recover quickly after each workout so your body can handle the mileage over time.
How long will it take to prepare for a marathon?
Before you start training for endurance events, set short-term goals that are challenging but realistic. This will assure you that your training goes well and each hour is useful in the bigger picture of success.
Start with 3 miles (5 km) per day, fighting to increase this distance 5-10% every week until you reach the desired level of access. Here is a good plan for how to train for a 10K race or 5k race. Remember, it’s okay if you don’t make it all the way; many runners give up before they reach their goal. Just remember why you started running and stay motivated!
If you’re already running 15-20 miles (24-32 km) per week, then it shouldn’t take more than two months of training before your body is ready to complete a marathon. If this is your first time running long distance, we recommend taking 3-6 months before attempting a 26.2 mile (42.1 km) run because you’ll need extra time for your body and mind to adapt.
Of course, any injury or illness will make things take even longer, so be sure to train smart and let yourself recover between workouts. Keep in mind that the greatest predictor of future injury is past injury; if you get hurt during training then don’t try to push through it, rest until you’re 100% ready to go again.
What should be my diet?
Even if we talk about long run then there is no need to discuss about dieting because if you’re running the whole day then the body requires extra energy to fulfill your daily needs.
Here you can drink anything that includes carbohydrates & proteins so that your muscles get enough nutrition while running for hours without any tension. Hence, our suggestion is just keep yourself hydrated before starting the training and make sure that you take good foods after finishing it (but never eat or drink too much) otherwise it will damage your organs like kidneys etc..
Example of a long-distance run plan for a beginner
Week 1: 3 miles (5 km) every day
Week 2: 4 miles (7 km) every day
Week 3: 5 miles (8 km), every other day
Week 4-onwards: Keep adding an extra mile until you reach your desired running distance. You can split up this mileage between two runs if that’s more convenient for you. Just make sure to take at least one day off after each hard work out, and wait until the next week to increase your mileage.
Increase your daily run by no more than 10% per week. If you find it too difficult at any point, scale back to the previous week or keep things as they are for another couple weeks before moving forward again.
